Freshman Internship Questions & Soph.Programs

I just finished my freshman year at a top public school (UMich/UVa) with a 3.8 . This summer I will be working at a boutique hedge fund in India and at a large financial tech company (Thomson Reuters/Bloomberg) in Israel. Would I be competitive for the sophomore programs at top banks next year ? If not, what should I attempt to change ?

It seems like you're doing what you can atm, those programs are competitive for everyone so the best thing you can do is keep your GPA high and network heavily before applying. I know a lot of people with good GPAs and experiences, but didn't get anything stellar soph summer due to lack of connections/networking.

And how do you recommend I network? Do I simply reach out to alumni over LinkedIn? What kind of message do I send? Should I attempt to reach out to alums of my fraternity ? I apologize if these are stupid questions and thank you for your time
