From a blow up mattress to your own Tuscan Villa

Airbnb has announced its entrance into the luxury home space. According to the New York Times, Airbnb Luxe is the newest tool for renting out castles in the French countryside with a full waitstaff and much more.

All renters are assigned a trip designer — similar to a concierge or travel adviser — who helps them arrange every aspect of their stay, from airport transfers and restaurant reservations to local tours and experiences at the property itself.

How do you think Airbnb will fair in an already crowded marketplace for luxury stays? Earlier this year Marriott announced their own take on Airbnb with home rentals in select cities; as well as the Four Seasons' with their Private Retreats.

Personally, I prefer staying in hotels versus an Airbnb due to the astronomical fees that the platform tags on at booking for things like cleaning. I also enjoy the amenities that are typically included in a hotel stay - daily house keeping, room service, etc. What are your thoughts?
