From "Corporate VC" to "Growth Equity" in Asia
Background
- 15 Years of working experiences in Corporate Development and M&A in various sectors in Asia - e.g. Logistics, Retail, Manufacturing, Construction services, Real estate, etc.
- Extensive skill sets - e.g. Growth strategy, Financing (across stages), Deal negotiation, Operations, New venture development, Team building & management, Corporate innovation, Operations
- Currently the Head of Venture Capital investment arm of the Asian's leading diversified conglomerate (been in this position for 3 years) with a track record of 15 investments in VC funds & growth stage companies
- Good understanding about relevant technology trend & market dynamics in traditional industry transformation in Asia & have extensive network with both VCs & growth-stage startups in Asian market
- MBA degree from top tier university in US (Class of 2011)
- I am thinking of the career opportunity at VP/Principle level at Growth equity funds/Late stage VC funds in Asia.
Question:
(1) What is my chance for this career transition? Wonder if this is too late? What would be the best approach for me to succeed at this career transition?
(2) Would the recruiting firms help based on my profile & current situation? If so, would be appreciated if you could help advise the recruiter lists.
(3) Any tips on how to know which recruiting firms work for any specific PE firms?
Thank you very much.
Following this thread - my situation is similar except I'm way more junior.
