From IB/PE to prop trading

Hi everyone,

I have been a IB/PE guy for a long time. And I have always wanted to trade but I chose the banking route. Now I am now in my early 30s. I got a bit bored with all the corporate work and want to see if there is any opportunities for me to go into prop trading. I am ok with starting fresh with all the fresh grads and just learn. I know I am a bit of an unusual candidate given my age and experience so wonder if that would affect me.

-Top 5 engineering school in US graduated with 3.8 GPA
-Went to BB IBD after grad
-Went to MM PE
-Started my own investment advisory company with a partner focusing on Asia opportunities
-Considering trading now

I have really enjoyed fast paced, high pressure, high reward environment amongst really intelligent folks. IB/PE is just a bit slow for me. Obviously at this stage of my life I am not really in need of a job so it's more of pursuing something that I thought could be fun but never had the opportunity to.

Any advice would be HIGHLY appreciated. I got into IBD because of this forum and am eager to give back to whoever needs help. Thank you so much in advance!
