From PB to IB/ER

Hi all,

Currently I'm a PB analyst (RM/Investment) in a Balance Sheet Bank, think (HSBC, BNP...) in Asia. I have worked almost a year and planning to move into IB/ER (prefer IB more). The main reasons are that the exit opportunities are limited and its technical side is too narrow.

Background: target school in Asia; interned at S&T Ops in a BB before.

  1. Between IB/ER, which one would be higher chance base on the skillset I gained from the BSB?

  2. Are their any suggestion for me to act on in order to make such move on Q1? Is CFA mandatory?

  3. Between internal transfer or external job seeking, which one do you think its more feasible?

Any thoughts would be appreciated, thanks.
