From the Fintech entrepreneur applying to M7 (update)
Some of you may remember this post: https://www.wallstreetoasis.com/forums/should-i-r…
Well a few things have happened since:
- I've written 6 essays
- I've wrangled 6 recommenders
- I've applied to 4 top 10 schools
- I retook the GMAT for a 710 (again), this time 1 point better on quant, 1 point worse on verbal. This was after about 100 hours invested in TTP. It was time well spent, happy for the outcome.
- I spoke with 10 Wharton grads (this is my top choice)
- I got back 1 reject (HBS)
It was, as many of you stated, a tremendous amount of work. Specifically, as some pointed out, I could reuse very little between applications. Each one needed something slightly different as far as essays, recommenders, short answers etc etc etc.
Along the way, I discovered the Harvard CORe program so I am midway through that...really enjoying it and carrying around an A average currently, really shooting for the "High Honors" designation, for whatever that's worth.
This week I apply to UT McCombs and at that point I am done with the apps, and I wait. I'll have all my answers from 4 M7 apps I put in by end of month, and then will be decision time (assuming UT accept) if I go with UT or try for a few more T10.
Just sharing the journey. Figured this may be helpful to someone else.
