FT networking- can I be more direct?
Currently an SA at a regional boutique and trying to lateral to a BB. When I'm networking, can I be more direct in my outreach in initial emails compared to when networking for SA position?
For an SA job, I would typically ask to learn more about their job, and eventually after a conversation or two pivot to asking more about the recruiting process at their bank. However, given that I already have an internship in the industry, I was thinking my initial outreach could simply be to ask about the FT recruiting process at their firm. Is that too direct? Is it better to beat around the bush a little bit and try to get them on the phone, and then make the ask? I'm worried that if I send a standard SA networking email, they would be confused because I'm obviously not recruiting for SA positions, so I want to be upfront about what I'm looking for.
