FT Recruiting - Didn't get an offer

Can someone shed some light on the FT recruiting process. Few questions: Should I recontact people I was in touch with during junior year if I didn't get an offer (rejected versus waitlisted). Should I bother trying for top banks if I didn't have a BB summer internship (interned at a very respected buy side shop that didn't give offers). Are all offers exploding, and when would they actually start interviewing for these spots?

Hey so hope I can shed some light for you. I interned at a MM shop in NYC this summer (not a well known name 40 bankers). My contacts from last year said to keep in touch for FT so in that aspect I would absolutely keep in contact. In terms of top BB recruiting I already spoke with one recruiter through my connection and she said interviewing will start at the end of this month into next month although recruiting will be limited in size they will be doing some. Also in terms of timeline from everyone that I have talked to it sounds like end of August through September and done recruiting by the beginning of October. Hope that helps
