Funny story
I was in New York last weekend visiting a few friends of mine. I got in Thursday night, parked my car in Jersey, and hopped on the PATH to the city. My buddies live at 45 Wall, so I was in the Fidi hanging out and waiting to meet up. Bear in mind that it was like 10 pm, and I felt like getting the a few drinks in my system to get the party started.
I stroll into Ulysses, which apparently is a hangout for Goldman Sachs people, and start buying Blue Moon pints. As I'm talking on the phone, trying to figure out when my friends were getting back to their place, this guy rolls up and says "Yo I'm X, I work at Goldman Sachs S&T." So we start shooting the shit (btw dude if you're reading this, you should know I'm unhappy with you) and he starts ordering all kinds of random food and drinks and shit. I get progressively drunk, this guy starts buying me drinks, and we're having a grand old time chilling. It crossed my mind that a random dude was buying me libation in one of the gayest cities in the world, but free booze is free booze, right?
Anyway, after about an hour or two, I start to feel like my game is extra tight, so I approach a cute girl sitting at the bar while this guy leaves to "go to the bathroom." As I'm chatting with this girl, making inroads into bringing besides luggage to my friends' place, this goldman sachs motherfucker actually leaves. Two bartenders approach me from opposite angles and demand that I pay a three figure towards which I ordered nothing. The asshole was nowhere to be found, leaving a senior in college to pay his bar tab, during bonus season no less. fucking asshole.
However, all was not lost. I eventually got that girl's number, and slayed her the night afterward. All in all a fun weekend, but I learned that many of you IB'ers are prone to chicanery. the end.
hahaha im guessing he wasnt a banker and had that shit planned from the start.
that guy is not at gs-- heard this before. he pulls it off with lots of out of towners. welcome to nyc.
S&T is not a part of IB.
This is true. My mistake...
