Gap year thinking about applying for MFin
Hello people,
Here's a summary:
- Recently turned 22 years old
- Graduated from a Top 5-8 (depending on rankings) B-School in Europe, undergrad
- Low GPA, 3.0 more or less
- GMAT 700
- Internship in corporate (think Amazon, Google, Microsoft)
- Currently interning in Fixed Income Trading (in a top 2-3 investment bank in my country)
My current internship is coming to an end and I am not sure where to go from here.
My short/medium-term goal is to do Trading in London at a BB, and am currently landing 0 interviews with those banks.
I was thinking that a MFin could help me overcome my GPA and make me more competitive. Realistically, of the schools I like, I think I have a shot at ESCP (MiM with finance specialization), ESADE and maybe St.Gallen.
A 2-year program seemed a good option because I would have the time to build a solid GPA and apply (possibly) twice for summer internships.
I appreciate suggestions. Thank you.

But I support your analysis.
First it sounded like MIT, second it had no question lol
I don't get your comment.
"My current internship is coming to an end and I am not sure where to go from here."
Indeed. Knowledge of non U.K. European schools is not that high on these forums.
There are a few people around who may know.
Yeah, I noticed haha. Even though I remember a while back I had read some posts about continental European schools on these forums. I guess demographics have changed since then.
Any particular reason you haven't added schools like HEC, Bocconi or Erasmus to your list?
Based on what I could tell your internship experiences / extracurriculars would certainly go a long way towards making up for your low(ER) GPA.
Also, is there a particular reason your GPA is on the lower side?
