Getting A Sophomore Summer Internship
I go to a target school and I'm hoping to get an internship at a BB in IB or S&T. Currently, my GPA stands at a 3.75. I'm taking a summer class right now (managerial accounting) that I'm not doing too hot in (GPA has the potential to drop to 3.63 or 3.69). The following is my breakdown of grades for relevant coursework:
Business Statistics - B+
Real Estate Finance - A
Financial Accounting - B
Marketing - A-
I currently work high up in the accounting department at one of the largest student-run non-profits in the world, am an analyst at our schools investment club, and worked at a car dealership this summer in the accounting department. I have an internship at the SEC (W/M division) lined up for the fall for which I've accepted the offer. I'm trying to hit the ground running with respect to networking and finding a job for next summer (I'm a rising sophomore). So far I've applied to three JPM internships and have 3 people from there that I'm in touch with. My main concern right now is my GPA, but I'm also curious as to how I should proceed after I've set up a phone call with regards to inching my way towards getting a job. If you guys have any general suggestions for me as a rising sophomore it would be greatly appreciated. Can PM my resume (haven't seen people do that before but I saw someone in a previous post asked for a resume so I don't know if that is particularly orthodox but I figured its worth a shot). Thanks again guys.
