Getting First Rounds - What am I Doing Wrong?

Hi guys. I'm applying for a 2019 summer analyst position. I've sent out applications to all the bulge brackets, as well as a number of relatively prestigious boutiques.
I'm a student at a target school with a 3.85 majoring in Economics. My interest in IB is recent, so I haven't had a chance to attend any on-campus events, but I still thought my credentials would be good enough to at least get me a first round. I haven't heard back from anywhere. I don't want to sound entitled - no one is guaranteed anything - I just want to know what I'm missing. Is it because I didn't attend on-campus recruiting events during the school year?

I didn't want to post my resume because it includes personal information, but the format is from a former IBer and I'm confident it's clean. I held an internship at an asset manager as well as a leadership position in a somewhat financially-minded club (credit union). Sent most apps 2 weeks ago.

Recruiting has been going one since May. More than likely intern classes are full and while you are a strong candidate you might be getting passed on because you are simply late and someone else already has the position. However, there is still hope because I am sure not all banks are done recruiting. I am still getting HireVues and emails from positions I applied to in May.

My Brother. My Captain. My King.

I had friends working at most of the banks already, so I simply name-dropped in my cover letters. I kind of thought that would be enough... is it too late to start cold-emailing?
