Getting into IB late through masters program
Hi all,
Wanted to get some opinions on this. I went to a state school for undergraduate primarily to play my sport. Was a D1 athlete at a relatively high profile program (played a country club sport so generally a good sport that people like to speak about in the world of finance).
Because of this I wasn't able to go through the traditional internship program route. Realized after I graduated I needed a better degree to get a decent job in finance, now in a one year masters in finance program at a second tier school (a level below Ivy League I'd say) but still a school that places well into IB (think Georgetown/Notre Dame type school). Still an athlete here since I had a year left to play and I know it looks good that I'm still an athlete.
Was curious what some of you with experience might think about my chances to land an analyst role somewhere, I know it's extremely hard if you aren't going through the internship programs or don't have a previous IB internship. Also would be interested to know if there are recommendations for some boutiques/middle markets I should be looking since I know the bulge brackets aren't happening without an internship.
Thanks in advance and I appreciate you all!
