Getting into SA 2019 late; what do I need to know and do

I've pretty recently decided upon pursuing a SA role for summer 2019. I'm going to be a junior come fall and want to know, on a basic level, what I need to know and do right now. I've done some technical readings, although I do need to continue getting better, but I'm pretty confused about how this whole process works and where I should start.

It might be a bit too late to really start if you haven't made any efforts to network strongly or if you are from a non-target school. To the best of my knowledge most of the EBs have already finished recruiting, and most BB are starting to get into non-core recruiting (aka normal recruiting). My best advice is to leverage any existing connections right now, and network aggressively with as many banks as possible. Send emails asking for coffee/informational calls and ask about each banks' recruiting process. If they are still open, stay in touch with them for first rounds and then the process will flow from there.
