Ghosted after great meeting? Wait or accept current offer?

Basically, I (sophomore at non-target) cold emailed a director at a multi-manager HF and got an in-person meeting in their offices. The meeting went (I think) extremely well, we really connected and he seemed impressed with my background. He then said that he would talk with the C-suite about interns and said something along the lines of "bringing me in next week for a stock pitch". That was about a month ago. I followed up (2 weeks after) and then again a few days ago (because I got an offer for this summer that I have to respond to soon). Got no response. I also have a contact from my school at the firm who I followed up with over text in a similar way and he responded the second time, but the D was out that day.

For context, my offer for this summer is at an institutional (~1B) investor where I would help assess managers and allocate assets. I have to respond within the week. I also have one at a boutique investment bank, but I think the institutional investment analyst role is more relevant here.

How should I take this? Are they busy or ghosting me? What should I do next? Follow-up again? Attach a stock pitch presentation and model this time? Decline my current offer and hope that they eventually get back to me? Offer to work for free?

For more context, I'm recruiting/networking for next summer for IB or ER, with the longer term goal of an investing role (not sure what kind yet). That is partially why I think this is such a great opportunity - I can easily spin the HF towards both IB and ER, make some great connections, and do something that I love.

Any advice would be greatly, greatly appreciated. Thank you!
