Intro to M&A deal docs

Has anyone come across a good introduction to all of the different (private company) M&A deal docs for PE Associates / VPs? Would be helpful to have a comprehensive go-to reference resource to understand how all of the different agreements and schedules tie together and their purpose/rationale. Even better if the primer highlighted common economic/legal points of negotiation.

I realize each of the agreements could be googled individually, but haven't come across one all-inclusive reference. Thanks in advance for your help!

For M&A: There is a book by Robert Bruner called Applied Mergers and Acquisitions. I have a really old 2004 edition. Chapter 29 gives a good overview of the deal docs for an M&A transaction. If you get a version of the book with an accompanying CD-ROM (or whatever the new media they use these days), it contains three text lectures that offer detailed notes and actual examples of docs.

PS If you work in M&A, I can't think of a better reference book on the subject whatever your query may be.

For PE: Check out a book called Deal Terms by Alex Wilmerding

Good luck!
