GID Development
WSOers, does anyone have familiarity with GID (General Investment & Development) and specifically the NYC office of their Development Group? Curious about their reputation/working there.
Thanks

Career Resources
My very limited knowledge of GID:
Worked on a MF development deal during a summer internship at a large bank. The project was overall pretty solid, but one of the main sources of risk, from the bank's view, was the developer's personal financials (contingent liabilities-to-loan ratio or something like that was pretty high).
What ultimately made the committee comfortable with lending on this project was that GID was the LP. They viewed GID as a very established firm with a strong balance sheet and track record. I think they had only done a few other deals with them in the past, but they were all positive experiences.
No idea if it was the Boston or NY office. Like I said, I was just an intern so didn't get to learn/hear much else about them.
We've bought and sold a lot of deals to and from them and constantly run up against them on deals we're chasing. They're rock solid guys, have permanent institutional capital, good culture, and great deal flow. Great gig if you can swing it.
Great guys - down to earth, extremely smart, cut great deals, and have a solid financial base. You will not go wrong applying/working there.
Really appreciate the responses. To be clear, are you all referring to their acquisitions platform or the development group? Looks like they are separate entities on their website. I am talking about the development group led by james linsley.
My comments apply to both teams.
They are separate but both have great people.
Reviving this. Recently contacted by recruiter for a job at this firm. Anyone has any insights?
