Giving up on full time recruiting
Does anyone know any banks who are still recruiting for FT? I have had no luck, even with an intern at a BB this summer (IB division). Seriously losing hope and starting to think it’s too late

if you go to a target school, i feel like there would be a good number of opportunities posted on your school's handshake
I do, and there isn’t. I have applied to every single one and networked with them. Literally get rejected every time. I do not understand what I am doing wrong. I ask for feed back but no bank even responds. Sick of it, about to just move to japan.
Same man, feels bad
Wow, that sounds like a brutal situation. I feel bad for you.
SAME.
In the same boat. Pretty sure there is a megathread put up the other day of people letting it all out so you're not alone by any means. Anyway, it's out of our control. Would you have changed your performance in any way over the summer if you could go back? I know I sure wouldn't have. So it's on them and not you.
I certainly wouldn’t have done anything different, however, in hindsight there were certainly things I could and have improved on. Mixed feelings about the whole thing, but I definitely did my absolute best effort/work in the moment of the internship.
Was in your boat (not BB but EB). Just secured a FT offer.
It's a sizable step down, but Jesus man it's brutal out here right now. Just keep your head down and tap every network and friend's network you can.
The struggle's real man. I'm at a non-target MBA. Had a summer internship, but conversion rate was brutual. I've only seen post-MBA associate spots posted for UBS and HL. Anyone else pursuing an MBA that didn't get a return offer - where are you finding postings for post-MBA (vs immediate hire) associate spots? You guys think it will pick back up or are we just royally f'ed. I've started applying to any post-MBA corp dev role I can. I feel like the banking train has just totally left the station and I'm sitting here holding a giant sh*t internship experience (4 weeks no live deals).
Sorry had to vent a bit myself - you're not alone dude. Hold your head up and keep grinding. Stay fresh on technicals and try to reach out to any recruiter/alumni you can find. I'm hoping they will be able to provide some guidance on the FT recruiting (unfortunately, our IB bench isn't super deep LMAO).
My BB bank I interned with told me that they think banks will Pick up hiring once things start to open back up. I think a lot of spots are going to open up in like March and April but if things get worse or we have another shut down I think we are totally screwed. They basically said it depends how economy does.
Damn. I might start prepping the GMAT this gonna be brutal
Are you all just applying to banking jobs? I have been unemployed with a masters degree for 9 months, applying to anything from banking to research to corp fin. After the April-May freeze things picked up a bit, but it's still pretty hard. How much do you all think it matters if a company is looking to hire someone like me (out of school/unemployed) vs. someone that's a fresh grad. I still know my technicals and all down hard, but some companies are just bureaucratic and are looking to hire only people about to graduate, or only people with undergrad (no masters).
