GMAT valid timeline

Hello, I am an incoming BB analyst. I have a 3.7 GPA and a 770 on the GMAT (big shock to me too). I am unsure about the timeline for how long this score is valid. I want to do ~3 years years of investment banking and 2-3 years of PE equity before applying to MBA school. Will this score last me long enough to apply to business school or will I need to retake? Thanks! Assuming I work for 6 years after, but first rounds.

Yes. The score is valid for 5 years, so to be on the safer side consider applying to programs with the start date on or before the expiration of your score.

First round BSchool apps deadline first week of september using HBS as an example. Assuming you apply first round everywhere in september 2024, you will hopefully be admitted by december 2024, and afterwards it won't matter if your GMAT expires the next month. By then you will have had 3 years IB and 1 year PE experience, and by the time you enter BSchool, you will have had 3 years IB and 2 years PE experience, which meets your objective.

Seems to me like a valid timeline.

Essentially studying all day everyday for approximately 2.5 months followed by taking every test and buying every test bank available to run though. I used Manhattan GMAT stuff alot to learn material. Great stuff. Totally overkill and my actual test score was like 30 points higher than my average practice tests (but I’ve always have that “bump” even for my CFA, SAT, and ACT). Happy to answer any specific questions.

Manhattan prep is very elite and expensive right? I've never used a service to study for standardized tests (SAT and GRE), instead just studying on my own with books, and still been able to get 90th percentile on them.

What books do you recommend for GMAT? Thanks.
