Second bullet under honors says "Selected as by donor..."

Separating your interests with diamonds looks weird.

Really? You put photoshop as a technical skill?

No internships?

Good catch about the "as by"

How would you recommend I separate my interests?

Do you think I should put photoshop under interests?

Be prepared for some questions as to proficiency with Excel if you put Advanced... Just be forewarned...

Well I do feel that advanced is appropriate, but perhaps I'll just leave it at "Microsoft Excel"

  1. Ugly font (looks way worse than Times)
  2. Way too much emphasis on your awards, and I hate how you listed the same award twice (not even a real award, it's a scholarship).
  3. Really, your excel skills are advanced? You will get crushed if they decide to test you on it. Unless you've ever worked in an ibanking type setting before, I highly doubt your excel skills are "advanced" by the standards of your interviewer
  4. No one cares about your interests enough to give you a job for it. You look like a moron for putting "movies" also
  5. Photoshop, really? Remove.
  6. Computer repair, really? Remove.
  7. You have so few activities that you put a being a member of a club as an activity?!?!
  8. International travel? As opposed to domestic travel? Just put "travel"

I think I destroyed it enough :P - it's actually not that bad though. At least you didn't have an objective section.

  1. Which font? Times New Roman?
  2. The scholarships have different names, which are listed on my resume. I just labeled them "Donor scholarships" for Razume. You think I should remove all of them?
  3. Alright, I get the point. No more advanced Excel skills
  4. So don't list any interests at all? 5&6. gotcha
  5. Maybe we have different views of activities.. what do you suggest? List community service or something instead?
  6. gotcha

there was quite a bit of destruction in those 8 points haha

if the scholarships are at least somewhat large or hard to get, list them all on one line under education and get rid of descriptions ("Recipient of merit-based [$xx scholarship A] and [$xx scholarship b]")

if they aren't reasonably prestigious (full tuition merit award or similar), get rid of them altogether

Don't let them hate on the interests section... the interests section can be key... just make sure the stuff on there is actually worth having a conversation about... My interest section was "Recreational basketball and squash, snowboarding, and microbrew and wine tasting" we talked about wine and beer in half of my interviews and it was awesome... the ones I didn't talk IPAs with I talked squash with as half of the VPs/MDs play...
