Going back to Consulting

Does anyone here have experience with going back to a consulting gig, once you have been in Corporate Strategy?

I'm with a strategy team of a F500 (3 years) after a consulting gig (3years, not MBB, regional firm with specialization in the industry I am currently in)

I now hav ethe opprotunity to go back to consulting with a tier2 firm (think OW, Berger).
I do not want to stay in consulting long term, I would only stay for 2 - 3 years and then move on to maybe a more prestigious/bigger F500.

Ultimatelly, I want to grow into an executive role, my plan was to get a Division/Business Unit CEO position at my current firm, but this is harder than I thought.
Nevertheless, this would be my goal in any case.

Has anyone here gone back to consulting to "re-brand" and get some more experience and did that help?

Thanks.
