Going from FAANG Project Management to Activist HF?

Posting for a friend who's not on WSO.

We were chatting the other day and he said he wanted to try and make the jump to an activist HF at some point in the next few years. Currently he's at one of the FAANG tech firms in a project management position with 6 years of experience.

I told him the best approach might be an MBA, a JD or an MBA/JD joint program, and recruit out of that program, but I really don't that much about it, so I figured I would ask.

What other ideas/anecdotes can I tell him about making the jump from tech to activism?
