Going into an interview with limited info

I was approached via LinkedIn a week and a half ago by the VP of HR from a privately held (PE backed) company in the sector I work in about a new Corporate Development Manager position within their company. We set up a call last Friday which was your traditional screening call, however she could not answer some key questions (compensation for the role, timing around hiring other than "before year-end", if relocation is required).

This past Friday, one of her direct reports reached out advising the company wants to fly me into their corporate office in 2 weeks to meet leadership for a final round interview. I told her that is great however I wanted to gather my thoughts and get a few questions answered before committing to a 3 hour flight and all-day interview during the middle of the week, let alone coming up with an excuse to be away from the office.

Have any here experienced something similar to this, and what was the outcome? Was I wrong for pushing back on the pushy HR underling who seemed like she was simply trying to get the task of booking travel off her desk before the weekend.
