come on, you make it out like you are working in TMT in your article, and i doubt that you can move to FO from what your experience entails.

To the OP which ops are you talking about? sure there might be the case that somebody made the move into FO but you need to network a lot and get your name out there. I am not an expert on this issue but image it to be quite the hustle.

GBB at no point does thefreshbiz infer that his experience is TMT, in fact the article seems to talk about how his inernship with GS ops was in Salt Lake City. Also, why would this internship hurt his chances for FO, its just an internship, I'm sure that fo ft recruiters will look at the overall candidate to make a hiring decision. Also, he does not allude to getting a ft fo offer at any point. Did you even pay attention to anything you read?

That being said, to the OP, if you are aiming for an FT offer with a front office group, I would advise you to try to get an internship with something more business oriented, I'm sure the GS ops internship has its perks, but I would also imagine that the "countless networking opportunities" the article mentions are with other back/middle office people located in Salt Lake and you would not get much or any exposure to FO groups

Yea I can see that. Fresh Biz's blog definitely helped me out, I recommend reading it if anyone is interested in going into operations, particularly at GS. It's also not a bad read as a whole.
