Goldman Sachs M&A Product Group: Thoughts?
I recently received a summer analyst offer from Goldman Sach's M&A product group within NY IBD. I was told that the group works on shareholder activism, structured M&A, and M&A capital markets and works with the various industry groups; however, everyone I know has never heard of it. Does anyone know what this group is like? Does it have solid exit opps (PE/CorpDev)? Do you get interesting deal exposure?
Any info would be greatly appreciated!
Someone correct me if I’m wrong but to my understanding, this is not a modeling heavy group. It’s more focused on drawing out strategies as you say on shareholder activism, etc. Don’t know anything about exits for this group.
Source: recruited for GS then and talked to a VP in the group
I can echo this, all modeling is done in-house by coverage teams.

Bump - Just wanted to know if there's any updated info on this group / the interview process
Did you get an offer?
Worked on a deck with an intern in M&A cap markets. Mostly used their team for data and some insights whereas the majority of the analysis was built out by the industry group. Think that’s how it is across the board, but just an anecdote.
