Good Internship advice - AM/HF

So I’ve just started a new internship in a small AM firm (small like, the team is basically the 5 PMs and me), and I would basically like to know any tips on how to add value to the team and the firm, as an intern.

The PMs have their own individual portfolios, which are mostly on FI, FX and Indexes, and I’m not experienced on the topic, so I’m not sure what I could do to help them. And they seem to not know as well (at least so far).

Any ideas? Think about things you did well as an intern/analyst, or things you liked that your interns/analysts do. Thanks!

FIVE? as in five named PMs? I worked for a firm with a billion in AUM and we only had four, and only two of them actually did PM work. Right now I'm at a big shop and there are only two named equity PMs in my field. (some unnamed guys do a lot of the work)

The only difference between Asset Management and Investment Research is assets. I generally see somebody I know on TV on Bloomberg/CNBC etc. once or twice a week. This sounds cool, until I remind myself that I see somebody I know on ESPN five days a week.
