Good places to look for a beginner, that's more specific to the Canadian market?

Hi everyone. I'm interested in getting started in CRE, and I've been trying to read up on it, including a few books, but one of my difficulties seems to be finding information that's not too US specific. Sometimes it will be advice on doing something that just doesn't work that way in Canada, other times it will be things like "Starting with a $25,000 down payment ..." which would be essentially nothing in the Toronto market at the moment.

I'm wondering if there are good sites, articles, videos, courses, anything that is applicable or better yet Canada/Toronto specific? I'd also love input and suggestions from any Toronto locals on getting into CRE, as well.

Thanks everyone!

Have you considered ULI's (Urban Land Institute) Toronto chapter. If you're a student, you get a discounted membership which allows access to their events as well as a subscription to their magazine which covers various aspects of real estate around the world (i.e. architecture, tech, developments, finance etc.). Not sure when ULI's annual Symposium (annual multi-day conference) is, but it should be around now.

For sites, I really enjoyed checking in regularly at urbantoronto. They report mostly on residential developments (i.e. condos).

The national papers are merely OK on reporting CRE. I mostly checked into the Financial Post and occasionally G&M.

The thing I'm finding about US CRE is that it's quite similar in many respects, so continuing to catch up on US CRE news (i.e. RealDeal) is good.
