Got a rejection, feels very bad
hi folks,
Finished my freshman year. Applied to mentorship programne. Got into a group assesment. Did well and led the whole group. But got rejected. Have nothing to do for this summer. Feels painful and sad.

I envy your position. If I could do it all over again I'd work at a Chick-fil-a while getting my college degree and angle for a franchise opportunity. Or I'd apprentice in plumbing or as an electrician and work the business angle to start a larger firm. So many alternative routes I wish I knew about when I was 19. When I was 19 I thought people could be accountants or accountants.
sad part is that the program which I was rejected from was about accounting.

I say this as a person with an MS in Accountancy.
I was an apprentice in the past. Got laid off. Then got a degree. Now? $$$ profit.

you have much more to do than the chumps that got in. read a bunch of books and plan your next moves, etc. utilize your flexible hours.

If I typed up all the rejections I have received in my life, whether they were regarding the job or elsewhere, I could publish a book.
That is strong
In banking (or, frankly, in life) you need thick skin and teflon shoulders. Nothing negative ever sticks, it doesn't matter. Someone could give you a rejection, but you honestly move on until you have something you like.
That, really, is the only way. You will see that rejections ultimately build character in you.
