Got offered a job. Would this be considered IB?
As the title states, I've been offered a job (still at university btw, its kind of part time) at a boutique corporate advisory firm to assist a director with due diligence and valuation modelling on deals, start-ups, IPOs etc.
The firm itself has almost 50 employees, provides corporate advice (mainly M&A) to clients, share trading and consulting services to clients. Having had a look at the directors, most of them have experience as former CEOs and directorships at other big companies, however no prior IB experience which was a bit of a red flag (or is it?). They've raised over $5bn through equity raisings and advisory according to their website.
Question is, would this be classified under the umbrella of investment banking?

Thanks for the quick reply Vlad. So since this wouldn't be classified as being an IB analyst, what would it be exactly? Any clues or ideas?
