GPA cutoff banking explanation, seeking input from those IN ib

This isn't a woe is me bad gpa post begging for help.

I was just wondering if anyone in IB could chime in on the concept of GPA cutoffs. Is it a 3.5, 3.7, what at your banks for lets say a semitarget/top state school? And how does someone below the cutoff but networked + work experience get "pushed" if applications are done online?

Really, it depends on quite a few things that you didn't provide the information for. So lets look at it from a more Macro approach.

  1. If you are Business you need to have a higher GPA than a hard science.
  2. If you have networked hard this can make up for a lower GPA. You have to be networking.

I would say on a micro level anything above a 3.8 is really when you can consider a "More SAFE zone". I am always hesitant to say that there is a cutoff because you never know when a MD golfing buddy's son need an internship.

Anything above 3.5 for hard sciences and anything above a 3.7 is usually considered the cutoff.
