GPA drop after Deloitte Consulting job acceptance
So I've accepted a full-time role as a BTA (business technology analyst) at Deloitte Consulting.
I am a senior undergraduate student. My GPA by the time I graduate will be .15-.2 points lower solely because of 12 credits of a language class I am required to take. My other classes are solid. This puts me below the cut off GPA that was stated on my initial application for applying.
My question is, will this be a big deal? Will they even ask for grades again at the time of my graduation? I may be thinking too much about this, so I think asking someone else would give me a more sane opinion.
Thank you.
Big 4 looks at GPA?
^ Yeah.
KPMG & Deloitte recruit from my campus, and they both have a hard 3.2 rule. Rumor is TAS & Consulting have a hard 3.5
Can't see it mattering.
My GPA was VASTLY below what the requirement was for Big4 and they let me in. This is for UK though where Big4 seems to be a lot more respected than in the US.
no, won't matter at all. the only reason for those cutoffs is so they have slightly fewer resumes to sift through when choosing interviewees
If you've accepted it no longer matters. At least that's based on my understanding form everyone I've come across. The GPA is a pre-requisite for the interview process. After that its not a big factor anymore. Its jsut there to weed out kids form the selection process. You've already been selected. You're golden.
You're fine. If you have Cs and some failing grades in your last semester, that'd raise a red flag. But if you are just bombing a useless language course (as your other grades are great), then don't worry.
Well, every year the bar is higher. Right now, it is 3.8-.9+. Even if you have 3.5 in engineering, for business people, you should have 3.8+. In my opinion 3.5 is better than a 3.8 in management or any arts degree. But, they don't make the difference. So make sure to be in that range.
