GPA for buy-side recruitment Post-IB?
Hasn’t been discussed in a few years, but what is a good gpa to have going into buy-side recruitment from IB? Im asking in particular for MM PE and credit shops. Personally graduated with a 3.5 cumulative and 3.7 major, am I screwed?
There was a thread on this literally two days ago man
For recruitment for first and second year analysts on the desk trying to transition to PE or credit? Please share if so

Let’s not pretend the difference in premise makes a real difference
That post isn't the same as what OP is asking. OP is asking about kids going from 2-3 years in IB to MM private equity, and how important GPA is then.
Agreed there’s a large difference from an IB analyst trying to make the move to the buy-side and a sophomore in college... bump
Here’s a hint: they’re all lower level employees so it’s all the fucking same. 3.7+.
So its possible that if you graduate with a less than stellar GPA (let's say 3.3-3.5), you could be stuck in banking?
