GPA off resume
How many years exp. do you need before you can take GPA off resume? Would it be bad if a 2nd year analyst trying to lateral or make move to PE takes off GPA if it isn't that great?

Too early to take it off. Almost every headhunter has asked me for SAT scores so they would definitely be interested in GPA.
Yeah, people instantly know if it's not on there that it's not good, so you're not hiding much.
GPA resume: include or not? (Originally Posted: 05/28/2010)

just leave it. you already have your MBA so in the grand scheme of things that GPA matters very little
just leave it out since it's low
your opening the pandora's box of questions if you put it down and its low since you go to a non target
its not below 3.0 leave it. if didnt see a gpa i'd probably assume 2.xx
....
Alright, we'll see how it goes.
definitely leave it out. it's true people almost never ask for grad GPA (especially if you have your undergrad GPA on there).
Well I don't want to put my undergrad GPA.
Resume Question: GPA On or Off? (Originally Posted: 02/14/2012)
I've been working for about a year and before that was in grad school -- I graduated from undergrad in December of 2008. Should my undergrad GPA still be on my resume, or is it time to take it off (in case it matters, my undergrad GPA is a 3.75)?
P.S. Not sure if this matters, but I'll probably be applying to jobs in industries inside and outside of my current job. I work in tech now, but I'll also be applying to jobs at commercial banks, insurance companies, market research firms, etc.
Just leave it on there, it's not like it's a shitty GPA or the line takes up a lot of space.
I find that it's quite pointless to put your GPA on your resume. Especially when you're reaching your level of education, you'll have a lot more on there in terms of employment experience and extracurricular/leadership activities that the aforementioned "one line" really cannot be wasted on a number that can be read on your transcript.
The only reason why I'd have it on there is if you're top 10 in your class.....
Like everything else on your resume, put it on if makes you look good, leave it off if it doesn't.
Leave it on...it can't hurt
GPA on resume - Small HF (Originally Posted: 01/30/2011)
First off, I searched the site but couldn't find the answer to this (not being lazy, I swear).
I've been working post-college at a small Hedge fund for almost 2 years. I'm in the application process for various jobs and I'm torn about including a sub-par GPA on resume. I know the further you get out from college the less they care about it, but what's the cutoff?
I talked to one recruiter who told me to include the major GPA (which is higher) when I hadn't listed anything but I'm wondering if its better to leave it out altogether. Anyone here do recruiting within the industry for non-entry level have advice?
Thanks.
thanks in advance
If you tell us what your major is, gpa is, and alma mater is we would be able to assess your situation a little better.
the general rule of thumb is that if a GPA is not listed on a resume, it is assumed to be under 3.0...therefore if it is 3.0+, you should put it on there, if not, and its really bad (close to a 2, or lower), i would say just leave it off. that is unless your major GPA is significantly higher (3.5+), because then youd be able to explain away your lower CGPA
