Grad out of a semi-target school in HK looking for lateral hires
Hi all,
I've been reading this forum for a while and I have to say it has helped me greatly with the plethora of information on this website.
A little bit about me, I currently work at a small boutique IB handling really small deals (
Most people have told me that chinese is a given and my fluency is chinese is getting there ~ almost quite fluent I would say.
I was wondering if there was anyone else in my current position as I haven't really found many posts about people attempting lateral hirings in HK/ APAC regions?
PS. I've been at my current firm for 5 months now and I can safely say that when the deals slow down - I am sitting at my desk trying to claw my way out into a middle-market firm.
Is there any advice you kind-hearted people can give me? eg. who should i most likely try and network with? books to read? things to boost my resume?
Thanks all!
just curious. what's a semi-target in HK? Are you referring to HKU/CUHK/HKUST , which are semi-targets at best ( given the large number of oxbridge/ivy graduates in HK). Or are you referring to schools like CityU, PolyU etc?
Same curious about how u define semi-target in HK
