Greenhill FT 2019 Interview
Hi All,
Anyone have experience with Greenhill interviews? I understand they have a reputation of being relatively technical, was wondering to what extent if anyone has been through it. Also wanted to keep this up to stay in touch w/ those who applied.
Cheers
Bump
Have you heard back regarding an interview? I have been in touch with a recruiter but no word on an interview for me yet. However, I spoke to an Associate who said it is pretty technical so I'd study up and learn more about the bank most importantly. How'd you end up getting an interview anyway?
Been on the radar with them for some time now. Have multiple connects
Bump. Would really appreciate insight
Most technical interviews I’ve done by far (this was for SA)
Can you shoot me a PM to discuss your experience? I'm FT but would love to hear regardless.
Bump, finished 1st round. Anyone hear about a Super?

Anybody had theirs yet? Or ever before? Should we be expecting something very technical and difficult compared to other interviews?
First round last year for me was pretty standard and not too technical- basic accounting/dcf questions. Later rounds became more technical (similar to the other firms like GHL).
They get pretty technical down the road. First round as @Black Jack said is basic accounting/valuation if you have background taking classes or from internships.
Ok, thanks for the input. Hope it goes well.
Fit was a big thing when I interviewed there. They're all really nice guys, but I definitely got a bit of a sterile/WASP feel from the people I've met there (in terms of mentality, even if their entire incoming class isn't white).
Weird observation because I found their analysts and associates to be overwhelmingly asian. Not in a bad way, just didn't get the WASP feel that you got.
I remember it being pretty technical, with some stuff that wasn't covered in guides or that required a few extra steps beyond what I'd learned, so had to figure it out on the spot. Obviously, the same rule that applies to almost all other ib interviews also applies here: the more senior your interviewer, the more fit based it will be, but if it's a first round, you'll probably be talking to an analyst or associate.
