GS Buy-side Discount?
I know theres a lot said about the GS IBD discount compared to EB pay, was wondering if anyone had any info on GS pay in their non IBD groups (PWM, AM, AIMS, etc) compared to these groups at other BBs or asset management firms?

Have not worked there myself but have heard it's not amazing. Base will be standard with other divisions for the same rank but bonus of 5-15k or similar.
AIMS PE is on par with IB
Any group that compares to this? how does their GSAM groups like Fixed Income or Fundamental Equities Groups compare in terms of comp?
AM & AIMS both have some really good groups, with analyst base that's on par w/ IB. PWM I'm not really sure, but likely significantly lower until you start climbing the ladder (then it gets complicated)

Learn morePWM investment side base is the same as in IB. Bonus around 15-20% though.
any more info on gsam bonuses? Through each year or by group if possible (pm vs client). Thanks
PWM base is on par to other divisions / firms ($85k base); bonus is discounted ($5k-$20k depending on year & firm performance). PWM base slingshots up when you enter NPWA program to $125k-$150k. Once a "self sustaining" PWA, the sky is the limit (average PWA does $4M revenue = $1.25M take home comp; this would still be a VP)... PWM MDs clear $3-5M easy (some north of $10M).

Replying to PM:
Just heard anecdotally and seen some things on WSO... I'd estimate pay is ~20-25% higher at JP per level (at the analyst level). This is for their true PB (not the hybrid roll in the $1-10M space). So I would probably clear ~$20k more if I was to leave today and go to JP. BUT, significantly more upside as an advisor at GS (JP is salary / bonus, GS is % of revenue)... tl/dr: better to be an analyst at JP but and advisor (assuming you make it) at GS.
