GS Chicago vs. Tier 2 BB NYC

What are your thoughts on GS Chicago vs. a tier 2 BB (CS/DB/Citi/BarCap) in NYC? Both offers for IBD. I already know where my preferences lie in terms of fit; looking more for your thoughts on experience.

GS Chicago is headed up by Trott and does regional coverage. Solid office, mostly full execution. Definitely not middle market, there are real MM firms for that. Analysts usually do a split between Chicago and NYC, one year each.

Incorrect- Trott left the firm to start his own shop. Many in the retail group either got cut or are in NYC now.

I remember reading about that now, my memory is so shot these days. Regardless, still a solid regional office.
