GS Operations vs. PwC Management Consulting
Hey everyone, I am having a hard time deciding on my internship right now, so I would really appreciate your help. I currently have two internship offers for Summer 2018:
- Goldman Sachs, NY, Operations
- PwC, not NY, Management Consulting
One interesting fact is that I have already had a PwC Management Consulting internship.
(Salary/pay is not a factor for me.)
I have read a lot about how doing Ops at GS does not help me at all if I want to switch to IB. But I'm also not sure how much doing the same (not exactly) internship twice will help me either.
Question 1. For future career options, I have not decided yet between management consulting (interviewing for MBB next year 100%) and IB. I'm not sure which internship will be more helpful for me career-wise, maybe it'll be different depending on whether I want to pursue consulting or IB?
Question 2. Is it really that hard to switch from GS Ops to IB? Also, I'm an international student and I know PwC is really great at doing sponsorships - I'm not sure how good GS is?
Any information/thoughts would be very helpful.
If you're wavering between IB and MC as a career path, I would take the MC internship.
Did you like your first PwC internship? Are you working with the same group?
Sorry for the late reply. I definitely did enjoy my PwC internship, will be working with a different group since my office location has changed.
Between GS Ops and PwC, I'm very much set on PwC. What are your thoughts about ER vs MC?
