I'm definitely interested in tech but I'm an east coast guy looking to live on the east coast long-term. How hard is it to move between offices, contingent on getting an offer - i.e. SF to NYC?
OP, I attend a West Coast university and am very confident that GS SF TMT has completed recruiting for SA positions (I know somebody who has already signed). Therefore, I find it strange that you are posting about this, as though you have a current outstanding offer for their office, which you shouldn't -- it should either be signed, or non-existent. Are you actually "debating" or have you signed with one of the offices (I would assume in this case GS SF TMT) and have a current outstanding offer for MS NYC?
Points above are correct - you should be thinking about what you want to be doing. In New York, you will almost entirely be doing Telecom and in SF you will be doing Tech. I'd suggest MS NYC because the experience at GSTMT doesn't translate to most TMT jobs in NY.

GS SF TMT team is the bomb. These guys are rock solid.
Just out of curiosity, why would you prefer NYC TMT as opposed to SF TMT? Assuming they're both GS
NYC TMT is mainly telecoms, whereas SF TMT is mainly tech.
Well, yes... It would just be nice to get more details behind his reason for wanting to focus on telecoms, if that's what he's really after.
GS SF TMT is a fantastic team and will definitely keep you busy with interesting stuff. The big consideration in your case is your interest in tech.
Thanks guys.
