Guggenheim Securities Reputation?
Guggenheim Securities has a full-time job posting for their investment banking division coming up at my school. What is their reputation on the street? How do these guys rank against the elite boutiques? Do they have good exit ops? I know they've worked on some big deals, and their chair is Alan Schwartz, but haven't really heard much else... Any thoughts? Thanks.
Good opp to get in on the ground floor. Really good bankers there... esp schwartz.
Anybody else have thoughts on these guys? How do they compare to GHL or Moelis? Would there be exit opps to any megafunds?
ahhahahaha no. more like piper jaffray

It's really hard to say. They have very good potential and I know that they're pretty selective, but since they JUST started out it is difficult to hypothesize about the reputation they'll have and the available exit opportunities after two years. If you have an offer, there is no reason to be shy about taking it (although I would take a BB/elite boutique over them) given my risk aversion.
Wouldn't be so quick to laugh there fembot. Firm's been around only for 9 months but already doing some very large deals.
Search the 2010 Q1 Reuters M&A League Tables for Guggenheim ranking/market share
they've sitting around #20-25 market value ranking with market share of 2-3%
Thoughts?
thoughts: u work there and created a new account. end thoughts.
Haha i don't work there, but i am looking to get some outside opinion on the firm
that ranking is a result of closing only one deal all quarter, it just happened to be pretty big. its still way too early to tell if they'll be able to pull that off with any consistency.

They seem to be operating at a very high level for such a small place. Probably planning on building the next Bear.
I'm gonna be interviewing there so anything will be very helpful. Not so easy to research these guys.
Thanks!
I'd like to know this as well. You interviewing for FT analyst?
