Gym in London
Would like to know where do you guys go
I have the possibility to go to Uni's gym for like 30£/month, but hasn't a squash court
Equinox, Virgin and so forth are worth it?
I used to have Virgin's membership outside the UK, though dunno if in London has the same reputation
Cheers
Third Space and Virgin are both solid, but you're looking at £120-140/month (at least the 2 I've seen - London Bridge and City), they are very nice, I'd go to one of those if I went 5+ times a week.
Fitness First (Cottons, next to London Bridge) is good, £70/month, pool, all the machines etc you need, and squash court.
Thanks mate.
I've been seeing Virgin in Moorgate (80£/month if student), very close to the Uni, or Chelsea (82£/month). Both very good located and nice. Other collection clubs are like 120/130£/month though, with no student discount available
When I was in London for the first time I went to One London, at Imperial Wharf. Very nice for 70£/month
As far as I've heard easyGym are not that good (24£/month)
London bridge is pretty far, would like a gym that covers from SW-W to Barbican/Moorgate
are you at CASS?
Only seen one easyGym outside a nightclub, that's as far as my knowledge of them goes aha,
I used to go to a PureGym, it was £18/month if I recall, it was modern and had all the machines I needed, and a rolling monthly contract which was good (I think it's even cheaper for students). If you have one near you, might be worth checking out, although it's unlikely they have a squash court.
If you can afford it, I believe Third Space have a couple of gyms in the west of London, but, and I don't know for certain, I reckon they'll probably be £150+
Virgin in Moorgate sounds good if it's convenient for you though.
Alright then, I'll give a look at PureGym, thanks a lot!
150+ is too much for me, unfortunately
Btw, the nightclub was the Scandal club? Lol
Yeah it was haha
Ahaha had the same experience! Btw easygym is 24/24.. not bad
FELLOW LIFTERS HELP! Gyms in Canary Wharf, London? (Originally Posted: 06/17/2012)
My flart is 5 minutes from Canary Wharf station and working in Canary Wharf. I'm Looking for a good gym. I've done a search on google but not found what I'd ideally be looking for. Anyone know of a gym that has all the essential lifting equipment - squat rack, flat bench, incline bench, dumbbells up to 35-40kg etc in this area? Fellow lifters give a brother a hand?
theres a pretty good virgin active by the four seasons on west ferry circus
It's nice but not good. No deadlift platform is a no no. But if around CW you're going to have to settle for commercial gyms.
LA Fitness has one of their city/premier gyms in Canary Wharf (Hertsmere Road, walk down the stairs next to Credit Suisse and cross the bridge, when you leave all the restaurants behind you can find the gym behind the curve). Furthermore many banks have their own gym in-house.
Any suggestions for Mayfair?
