Haas vs stats major

Hi I'm a student at UC Berkeley and I'm wondering if it's better to major in stats or get into the haas business school. I'm considering stats because haas feels limited if I don't land an banking job since most of them fall back on to accounting. I also like stats better because I might consider breaking in as a quant one day.
Also, one more question, how would a potentially lower gpa (3.5+) in stats be perceived compared to a higher gpa in haas (3.7+)?

You should know that the STEM departments at Cal think Haas is a puff major. You would not be taken seriously as a quant. That being said, I know more people that have risen to VP/MD level at GS/MS/ML and major PEs out of Haas UG and become decamillionaire entrepreneurs than STEM or anything else.

Forget all that though and study what you want. You can recruit for IBD, etc., just the same even as a stats major.

Remember that you can never make enough money to buy back all the time you lost doing shit you don't like. And you cannot take it with you. Go bears.
