Hamilton College! Not exactly target, but how hard to break in from?
How hard is to to break into IB from LACs like Hamilton College? I know that you have to take into consideration GPA, ECAs and Major, but keeping these other factors constant, do people break into IB from the likes of Hamilton/Colby?
.
I think a couple banks go to Hamilton. Talk to seniors who got internships. Talk to alumni in the industry.
Bob Diamond (Head of BarCap) is a Colby alum. I don't know if they actually recruit there but for what it's worth, there was a kid in my analyst class from there.
Diamond is a major donor/player at Colby, and I'd bet that, if nothing else, BarCap HR/Recruitment would be more willing to look at someone from a LAC like Hamilton. I'm sure other banks would give you shot if you network, play your cards right, etc.
Know of someone from Colby who interned and FT at Citi. Think it was S&T but I'm not entirely sure.
