Alright, I'll just answer the question.

No, no it's not good. When I see that someone went to Harvard Business School, I think "damn they're smart, obviously they're very smart if they got into HBS". When I see that someone went to the online counterpart, I don't think that. I consider it a bit of a cop-out unless you're an experienced executive.

From the Boston area and everyone out here thinks it's a joke. IIRC the degrees don't say Harvard Business School they say Harvard Extension School and you're not allowed to market yourself as an HBS graduate (they legally outline what you can say on a resume and linkedin).

If you want to attend HBS this won't help at all and if you completed the degree it would actually hurt you. You also won't have access to HBS OCR through and nobody will look at you as a Harvard graduate in the job marketplace because it's just not true. The only barrier to entry for these programs is being able to pay the cost for the degree (getting a 3.0 in these classes won't be particularly difficult).

You'll also see people on LinkedIn post about this and boast about getting into HBS. They all have non impressive backgrounds (BO types, sales jobs at companies you've never heard of, etc.) and when you click on their page they're always Harvard Extension School graduates.

are you an idiot? I can't tell if you are trolling or not

My goal is to attend Harvard on campus eventually but I started online at first. I want to get my MBA at HBS. I'm new to the Harvard system good or bad I think it's a start.

Never going to happen. It's not a start, it's not considered legitimate in the business world, it's a low effort, high margin income generator that leverages the name of Harvard, one of the most successful brands in the world.

You seem extremely naive.

What are you trying to say I put "online in the description"

Still pretty deceiving. You don’t get an MBA from this program.

I think having Harvard extension (or whatever the online thing is called) can be looked at as a negative. I would certainly judge someone who was naive enough to pay for that online certificate (unless they legitimately just went for the knowledge). Especially true if you at all talk about “going to Harvard”. It’s a paid online certificate and everyone knows that.

Bro, there are no positive comments to be added. If there were 2 sides, I'm sure people would be honest enough to shed light on both.

I don't know who you are and I'll likely never meet you, but I strongly recommend you don't pursue this program. Best of luck in the rest of your career.
