Hey bro. I didn't go to H but I'm in the league. You DTF?
wtf is wrong with you
You're the one breaking out into Pokemon Prose in every other thread. gtfo.
LOL...certainly gives 'networking' a new meaning.
OP, us ivy leaguers are always DTF...shoot your digits over and we'll set up a rendezvous at the H club. Bring your class ring and a couple buckets of lube and be ready to network like there's no tomorrow.
Its not some sort of cult. Network with whoever you think can help you, even if they went to University of Phoenix.

Harvard student trying to network with Yale alumni? (Originally Posted: 04/03/2012)
Or Princeton? Rest of the Ivy League? Duke students with North Carolina alumni?
Especially with smaller PE/HF, sometimes there aren't any alumni from your school. Is it alright to reach out to someone from an equivalent school/rival?
Has anyone tried this before? Has anyone had success with this?
can a guy wearing a royal oak network with a guy wearing a reverso classique?
Are you serious?
Why wouldn't I be? Just wondering how receptive people are to current students at a rival school.
I figure most people are bombarded with requests for informational interviews. They would probably rather spend time helping students who went to the same place for undergrad.
this is some of the best unintentional trolling i have ever seen. h/t. and if not, it is truly some of the most brilliant stealthtrolling EVER.
I wouldn't approach it from the "Hi! We went to similar schools, give me a job please!" angle, but would instead take it a step further and realize that if you have similar academic backgrounds, you probably have similarities elsewhere as well. It will take a little more effort, but you can probably find some other way to reach out to these guys if you already have pretty solid common ground to start with.
.
I would think they'd love it. "Hi, I'm from Harvard and I can't find a job. But you, Yale guy, I bet you can help (even though my own alumni have shit the bed thus far hooking a brotha up). "
Yes, that's a guaranteed winner.
The real world starts at graduation. Everyone has an allegiance to their school, but anyone who is not a complete toolbag is going to realize that there is more than one good school out there. Obviously, approach the networking differently.
Anyone who doesn't respond or responds negatively because you didn't go to their school isn't worth networking with anyway. Chances are that his fellow alumni don't like him and you would have established that he doesn't know anyone who went to other schools (due to the way he reacted to you).
