Has anyone worked in risk at an oil supermajor?

Hey guys, I recently had a phone interview at one of the supermajors for a position on their risk desk and was informed I would be moving on further in the process. I was curious if any of you had worked in risk at a supermajor or can give me some insight on their job. I read that they spend a lot of time on VAR models, but looking for a bit more information.

I don't really know what questions to ask, but I am curious as to what kind of upward mobility there is in risk at a supermajor. Is it a path to become a trader or are you 'stuck' in risk? I am actually genuinely interested in risk so the idea of being 'stuck' in the middle office isn't horrifying to me, but I would definitely like to know more.

Thanks boys.
