Has Herman Cain diminished the pride felt by black people following Obama?
I noticed a point made in the 'Herman Cain is retarded' thread, where someone argued about how Herman Cain has set back black people.
I actually never considered the point from that perspective, considering President Obama is likely to remain in position for a second term, no matter the opposition the GOP nominates, but the more I think about it, the more it makes sense to me.
I'm going to vote for Obama regardless of his opposition, especially considering no one has impressed me an iota and I'm always of the belief the incumbent will rectify any mistakes, but I am shocked to find myself considering this position.
Think about it. Everything that has gone wrong for a nominee has happened to Cain and add to the notion of his stupidity, his alliances, etc, it certainly adds up. If you google the terms, copious amounts of articles appear covering the subject so its a definite avenue people are pursuing.
I was wondering what the community here thought.
EDIT: I've changed my title to better reflect my point
I find it bigoted and sad that people would consider Cain to be undoing anything. The man is well educated, hard working and successful. You might not agree with his politics, but saying that Herman Cain is anything but a perfect example of African American success is disgusting.
Just because a black man is a Republican doesn't mean he is any less of a role model for other African Americans.
Yeah... definitely not setting black people back hahaha. Kinda ridiculous that that's being considered. If anything, he's done what Ant said and is just another example of a success in one area that may not be cut out for another one. I don't think any one black person can set their whole race back hahahaha.
Again, I apologise for the odd tone of my question but I simply meant, black people will be a little embarrassed and annoyed by the fact Cain's antics. Especially considering the fact that he constantly mentions being a 'conservative black'. His emphasis does him no favors.
I find it strange that you think an incumebent will rectify mistakes, esp the President who is by law limited to two terms. To think he has any incentive to fix his fuck ups is just a ridiclous idea. You make yourself look retarted by saying that.
Dude he's obviously a troll.
See.
I never mentioned an incentive. I feel, even the most selfish and incompetent will feel the re-election is a second chance of sorts to fix his mistakes and be a better leader. Not saying he definitively will be but the point can be argued.
No, the point can not be argued as you state it. Re election is a form of enabling. If one gets re elected they think that the people like what he or she has been doing and keep doing what they have been doing.
Where do people who think such things come from?
deep thoughts here
i ask you: after george bush jr can we have another white president? has he ruined the presidency for white people?
yes that popping and crackling is the sound of your mind being blown
^ After Obama, it will be decades until America has another POTUS from a minority ethnicity. This time, it will even more likely to be one from a Latino background. Mark my words.

That first article is really unbiased
The only thing coming undone are Herman Cain's presidential ambitions. I put him in the same category of amoral opportunist as Michelle Bachman in the sense that they take a hostile approach to the thinking that made it possible for people in their demographic to have access to the political system at all. In other words: hyppocrites
Coming from an actual black person, I do believe this sums it up:
Please, for the love of God, what positive things has Obama done for black people?
Perhaps I came across badly here. Here are some of the articles discussing the issue:

My point, clearly lost in translation, considering the backlash, was that some of the pride black people felt with Obama being president was lost with the shenanigans of Herman Cain. He has been quite embarrassing.
As I said, perhaps I sensationalised my point too much but I feel Cain has done some damage.
Wow, I did not expect such a backlash. It was merely a thought.
Obama still lives in government housing...just sayin'
No offense, you are a blinding fucking idiot. Why in the world would you re-elect someone to fix his/her mistakes from his/her 1st term? That is idiotic.
Obama isn't even "American" in the stereotypical sense, much less "black". Anyone that fits into the stereotypical 'black' category that voted for this guy is nothing short of a racist. Besides coming from a somewhat broken home, there is nothing about him that mirrors what most black people experience growing up whether that is poor living conditions, bad schools, racism or nonacceptance. He didn't struggle through the Civil Rights era and he attended private institutions nearly all of his life. The same can't be said of Cain.
What a ridiculous thread.
