I briefly worked at a London consultancy that was a startup but had massive growth within the initial years. So they decided to place me and a new team in their financial services arm. We landed top tier clients and were allowed to build the entire sales structure ourselves. However, a couple of months afterwards the company decided to sunset financial services and focus purely on energy, oil, gas, and renewables as a company.
Even though we were the most profitable part of the business, the massive overall growth of the consultancy led to this decision.
