Haven't heard from HR in a while?
I signed an offer letter to join a big MM for full-time back in the fall.
After signing the offer letter, I submitted all of my paperwork to HR and various third-parties and subsequently received my signing bonus. However, I haven't heard from HR in about 2 months. Is this normal?
My prior email conversations with them indicated that they would confirm my start date, but this hasn't happened yet. I also haven't received any info on training (Location, specific dates, housing arrangements, etc).
I'll be working in one of the firm's regional offices, so I won't be able to find an apartment until I can confirm some specific dates.
Should I send HR an email asking them when I should expect to hear back regarding next steps? I suppose it wouldn't hurt....
Any insight would be appreciated.
Just ask a question phrased something like "just wanted to touch base to see if there's anything else I should do to prepare to start at (insert firm name) in the summer." You won't look annoying, you'll just look enthusiastic. I would do it.

Seriously.
"Dear HR,
I wanted to check in to see when I should expect to begin training and begin employment. I am currently looking for apartments, so any insight into the process would be appreciated.
All the best,
Jules Winnfield"
Sent something very similar on Thursday, currently waiting for a response. Thanks
In that case,
"Dear HR,
English, motherfucker, do you speak it?
Thanks,
Jules Winnfield"
When do most banks release info on their FT training programs?
check your junk mail
Already did. Nothing there
If you received your signing bonus, I wouldn't be too worried. They paid you and they're gonna get their money's worth. You can always email HR. HR loves emails - that's why their emails are always so long and effusive. "I hope this email finds you well," "Warmest regards," "Hope you had a restful weekend" etc. Write:
"Hi [HR Lady],
I am wondering if you have any updates about my start date and WFH status. Soon I'll be looking for an apartment and would like to plan. Thank you in advance.
Best,
-Jules Winnfield"
