Revenue Cycle - Advice/Career Opp?

I have accepted a full time offer with a MM consulting shop where I will be working in the healthcare group. Specifically I will be in Revenue Cycle. I don't know a ton about Healthcare Revenue Cycle but if somebody in this field wants to enlighten me that would be awesome! I would love to hear career advice regarding starting off in Revenue Cycle. (Below are my questions).

  • Will I utilize any of my skills I have learned from my Finance Major in this position?
  • Do people who end up in revenue cycle consulting usually end up staying for the remainder of their career?
  • What are some things I can do to stand out and how much career advancement is there?
